Born and raised in Brooklyn, New York, I consider myself a hybrid east coast/mid-wester with over 10 years living in Chicagoland. I spend much of my time with my 10-year-old son, whose birthing story led me to a career in education. I’m a Learning Behavior Specialist, whose passion for advocacy, diversity and equity have driven me in my previous work as a special education teacher and in my current role, Senior Program Facilitator, with Girls Inc. of Chicago. I love the arts, music, and enjoy writing in my down time and am a proud member of Alpha Kappa Alpha. As of this year I serve as a board member for Evanston CASE, a community advocacy and support group for caregivers and families of youth impacted by disability. Girls Inc. of Chicago represents limitless potential and endless possibilities for Black and Brown girls and the forward trajectory of our families and communities.
