Andrea maintains expertise in raising funds and support to advance and amplify the mission of community based organizations in the Chicagoland area. She is a trained fundraiser with 10+ years of experience in raising funds from both individuals and institutions for causes ranging from housing insecurity to women’s rights, and beyond. Currently, she serves as a Major Gifts Officer with the Illinois Institute of Technology. In her role, Andrea focuses on creating a supportive pipeline for CPS students of color to receive a premier STEM education for free. Prior to this role, Andrea served as the Major Gifts & Planned Giving Officer for the Shriver Center on Poverty Law, a national organization that focuses on eradicating poverty and racism.
Andrea began her career in fundraising and development upon graduating from the University of Southern California with a Bachelor’s Degree in Sociology and a minor in Criminology. She also maintains a Master’s Degree from the University of Chicago School of Social Service Administration and uses her clinical understanding of social work to inform her development work and educate donors on how to create impact among disenfranchised and marginalized communities. In addition to her professional experience, Andrea also maintains a certificate in Fundraising Management from Indiana University Bloomington and serves on the Continuous Learning committee for the Association of Fundraising Professionals, Chicago Chapter. She also serves as the co-facilitator for the Development Leadership Consortium’s Annual Fellows program, and a former scholar within the Chicago Council for Planned Giving.
