Tiara Goodwin born and raised on the North Side of Chicago (Old Town to be exact), with my parents and older sister and brother. She moved to the west suburbs when at12 where she played sports (track and volleyball) and participated in marching band, playing the trombone throughout her high school career. Tiara attended the University of Missouri and completed her Bachelors with a major in Communications. She continued her studies at the University of Central Florida where she received a Masters in Nonprofit Management. Over the past ten years, she has worked at four nonprofit organizations in fundraising and events. All of those nonprofits have had an overarching goal of ensuring youth and students are able to reach their fullest potential. In her spare time she enjoys trying new restaurants, catching up with friends and family and spending time with her dog, Cassius.
What’s your best advice for your younger self?
Always know your worth and stand up for what you believe will make the world a better place even if it means going against the grain. I would also tell her to appreciate all of the small moments/wins just as the big ones. Above all, be YOU unapologetically.
