Domonique is dedicated to expanding access to meaningful learning experiences that empower young people to explore their interests, build confidence, and see new possibilities for their futures. She is passionate about school-adjacent and community-based programs that provide youth with mentorship, hands-on learning, and opportunities to connect classroom experiences to the world around them.
After beginning her career as a 5th grade teacher in North Carolina, Domoniquehas continued to champion innovative approaches to youth development through her work with Chicago-based organizations, including the Shedd Aquarium, Kids Science Labs, and The University of Chicago Laboratory Schools. Across these experiences, she has worked to create engaging learning environments where young people are encouraged to ask questions, discover their strengths, and develop a lifelong curiosity.
Originally from Milwaukee, Wisconsin, Domonique has spent more than 20 years working alongside young people as an educator, mentor, and advocate. She holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education and has enjoyed bringing learning beyond the traditional classroom—connecting students with hands-on experiences aboard research vessels in the Bahamas and the Great Lakes, as well as through laboratory and school-based programs. Domoniquebelieves that every young person deserves access to opportunities that inspire growth, exploration, and belonging. Outside of her work, she enjoys spending time outdoors by the lake, listening to ’90s and 2000s playlists, and learning the game of tennis.

Be bold and supportive in the way you speak to yourself. Your words matter, and your inner voice helps shape the way you move through the world. You are your own biggest cheerleader—love yourself, celebrate your growth, and always root for her!
