About Jackie Guataquira

Hi! I’m Jackie and I’m an Instructional Facilitator for Girls Inc of Chicago at Clay Elementary. Originally from a suburb of Chicago, I’ve been living in the city the past several years. I identify as both a youth educator and an artist. I’ve been a creative all my life and in 2017 I graduated from the University of Illinois of Chicago with a bachelor’s in Graphic Design and minor in Museum and Exhibition Studies. I’ve worked at places like Columbia College Chicago and the Museum of Science and Industry Chicago, up until I completed a master’s in Art Education from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago in 2021. In my teaching practice I find ways to bring my creative expertise to the forefront, believing that art can elevate the educational experience for youth. I believe carving out spaces for young girls is important as they’re growing up and I enjoy being a part of the team at Girls Inc. of Chicago to make it all happen.
