Carmen Emanuel has a passion to work in the non-profit sector. She obtained her BA in Communication Studies, with a focus in Mass Communication at Eastern Illinois University. Her love for research and her determination to enhance her academic and people skills motivated her to further her education by studying Interpesonal ,and Organizational Communication as a graduate student at DePaul University. She has a passion to connect with, serve, mentor, and educate girls and young ladies.

Carmen believes that exemplifying leadership, responsibility and diligence is a significant part of what it takes to serve youth, most certainly the girls we serve at Girls Inc. of Chicago. Michelle Obama once said, “there is no limit to what we, as women can accomplish”. This is a quote that Carmen often applies to her personal accomplishments and journey throughout life. Born and raised in Chicago, Carmen understands how important it is to have organizations such as Girls Inc of Chicago. Inspiring girls to be the best they can be, helping them find their voice, teaching them that advocating for themselves and others symbolizes integrity, development, growth, and leadership.
