Aisha is a seasoned positive youth development professional with over 20 years of experience developing, managing and evaluating quality youth development programming. Aisha began her career an an Americorps volunteer with City Year Chicago and through that experience found her niche in creating safe and supportive environments for young people in community settings. Aisha has worked as a Program Director, Regional Program Manager and Director of Grants and Contracts in Chicago and regionally within the Midwest. Aisha is an alum of DePaul University in Chicago and a graduate of Chicago Public Schools. Aisha intends to use her well rounded skill set to help raise the next generation of leaders in the industry, as well as continuing the work to expand opportunities for girls, globally. In her spare time Aisha loves to read, go to the theater, travel and cook. She is a native Chicagoan who lives on the south side with her 2 year old puppy, Rapsody and fiancée.be The mission of Girls Inc. is to encourage girls to be strong, smart, bold, which are traits that can be manifested in a multitude of ways. Girls deserve the opportunity to show up and participate in every aspect of life that they would like to, without having barriers placed on how they participate. Girls Inc. works intentionally to break down patriarchal point of views about how women should show up in the world. Instead of placing “womanhood” in a box, Girls Inc. helps girls and women see themselves as powerful and empowered beings that are supported, valued and critical to the world.
