Mike Hanna oversees United’s seven domestic hubs and the network operations center (NOC). He joined United in 1998 and has held many roles, including managing director and general manager at three of United’s hubs — Los Angeles, Denver and San Francisco — regional manager in Seattle, and manager of human resources and general manager in Salt Lake City and Ontario, CA.
Prior to his current role, Mike served as senior vice president of airport operations, overseeing United’s worldwide operations and United Ground Express. Before that, he led the United team at Chicago O’Hare as vice president of the airline’s O’Hare hub.
Earlier in his career, Mike held a series of leadership roles at United’s San Francisco hub, eventually becoming vice president of airport operations, where he oversaw both the San Francisco and Los Angeles hubs.
Mike has more than 30 years of experience in the industry and began his career at WestAir, where he spent five years as general manager in several California cities, including Los Angeles and San Francisco.
Mike holds a dual degree in marketing and management from Humboldt State University and a certification in human resources from Loyola Marymount University. He is married and has three children.
