Alana Ward Robinson is a transformative technology executive with extensive experience in leveraging emerging technologies to support changing business models. She has built successful tech organizations within publicly traded companies, particularly in manufacturing and healthcare. Known for her expertise in developing enterprise Technology Investments and Governance, she effectively gains consensus to achieve operational excellence with integrated business processes and strategic technology solutions.
In 2004, Ms. Robinson founded Robinson Group Consulting (RGC), which specializes in Interim CIO leadership, enterprise-level technology assessment, and digital solution implementations. RGC’s diverse client portfolio has included global supply chain logistics, financial services, urban housing authorities, nonprofits, and higher education.
Ms. Robinson started her career at IBM Corporation and progressed through various roles, ultimately leading the IBM Public Sector P&L across multiple states. At Public Service Company of Colorado, she established a Sales and Marketing division and implemented ERP solutions at Pace Membership Warehouse, Coors Brewing Company, Sara Lee Hosiery, and RR Donnelley, achieving significant cost savings and enterprise operational efficiencies.
Her civic and nonprofit board governance experience has included roles with the World Food Program HQ (IT Advisory Board), Brighter Horizon Foundation (Board Chair), Girls Inc. of Chicago (Board Secretary), National Small Business Council, National Small Business Technology Council, National Hospice Foundation, The Executive Leadership Council and Foundation Boards, and The African American Experience Fund, National Parks Foundation. She is also a founder and member of the Information Technology Senior Management Forum (ITSMF).
Ms. Robinson has been recognized with numerous awards, including the ITSMF President’s Award, Grambling State University Alumni Beacon Award, CIO Review magazine’s Top 20 Technology Consulting Providers for the Public Sector, Financial Times Agenda 100 Group, Independence Blue Cross Supplier Excellence Award, among others.
She holds a B.A. in Applied Mathematics and Computer Science from Grambling State University and attended Harvard University’s Executive Advanced Management Program, where she was elected class President. She resides in Irving, TX with her husband, E. O’Neal Robinson.
